We invite applications for a 12 month postdoc position (depending on availability starting 1.2.2021 or 1.4.2021) in the area of language archiving, linked data and museums studies for a project on the development of criteria and standards for the curation of annotated audiovisual language data. In collaboration with partners at the Universität Hamburg, the Universität zu Köln, the Institut für Deutsche Sprache (Mannheim) and the Endangered Languages Documentation Programme (ELDP, London), the applicant will develop linked data approaches and operational criteria for the curation of annotated audiovisual data, typically of small languages, that make them accessible for cross disciplinary and cross sectoral research in memory institutions. We are looking for a person with experience in linked data, meta data ontologies, CIDOC crm, legacy materials, museum collections, computational linguistics and language data in different formats (inscription, manuscript, audio and video recording). A working knowledge of German is a plus.
