PD Dr. Marzena Żygis is a senior researcher in the Research Area 1 'Laboratory Phonology'. At ZAS she is also Principal Investigator of the project:

She studies the segmental and prosodic level of linguistic representations from phonological and phonetic points of view. Her research interests also focus on facial expressions accompanying speech. Currently, she is investigating the acoustics of whispered speech as well as facial expressions produced during whispering. In addition, she is scrutinizing socio-phonetic issues related primarily to German-Polish bilingualism.
