Real-time register comprehension in adolescent heritage speakers’ languages (CRC 1412-Register C03)

C03 is a subproject in area C "Register and cognition" of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center 1412 “Register”: Language Users’ Knowledge of Situational-Functional Variation.

Project C03 continues to investigate the real-time processing of register (mis)matches and semantic verb-argument / grammatical morphosyntactic (in)congruence by means of eye-tracking studies. A central project goal is to integrate C03’s observed findings of Phase I and Phase II into an extant language processing model. Additionally, we take into account comprehender background factors – such as age, Russian heritage language and proficiency – both in our experiments and by implementing them in the model.
