Assunta Süss was a research associate in the DFG project Bilingual children in transition from kindergarten to primary school: development of their literacy skills (DRUSLI) / Research Area 2 'Language Development & Multilingualism'
She is particularly interested in mono- and bilingual language acquisition. To understand better how children and adults process syntax, she works with methods such as eye-tracking and standardized psychological and linguistic tests. She investigates the relations between narrative skills, sentence comprehension, phonological awareness and non-verbal cognitive abilities.
