Dr. Vera Hohaus (The University of Manchester) will join ZAS as a fellow from January to April 2022. She is currently a Lecturer in Linguistics at the University of Manchester. Other stations of her academic career include Tübingen, Amherst and Vancouver. Her research focuses on semantic theory and its prediction for language typology, processing and change. The collaboration with ZAS will be based on common interests in the area of degree and alternative semantics, in addition to preparing a research project on the cross-linguistic semantics of weak modal strength.
