Results of the 1st round

The 1st round of the DOL 2024 took place from February 15 to 29. There were over 200 entries this year. 148 students from 13 federal states took part in the 1st round of the German Linguistics Olympiad and handed in their solutions. Berlin led the way in terms of the number of participants by federal state, followed by Saxony-Anhalt.

The tasks were not easy, but many participants were great and solved almost everything. Out of a possible 106 points, they needed at least 95 to qualify for the 2nd round. Two participants came very close to the full score with an excellent 105.5 points. A total of 62 participants made it through - congratulations and good luck in the 2nd round!

We hope that even those who did not advance had fun participating and continue to enjoy languages and linguistics. Next year there will be another opportunity to participate in the Linguistics Olympiad!
