In April 2024, the Leibniz Association will launch a new initiative. The so-called "Leibniz Labs" will be funded by the Leibniz Association over a period of three years with a total of three million euros each. ZAS is also involved in two of the three Leibniz Labs: "Systemic Sustainability" and "Upheavals and Transformation". Prof. Dr. Natalia Gagarina, Deputy Director of ZAS and Head of Research Area 2 "Language Development & Multilingualism", is particularly involved in the latter.
About the Leibniz Labs: In the Leibniz Labs, a broad spectrum of Leibniz Institutes work together on an interdisciplinary basis and with stakeholders from society, politics and business to develop practical solutions for major social challenges. With this new format, the Leibniz Association is strengthening its inter- and transdisciplinary excellence. A separate project will support the three funded Leibniz Labs through intensive networking and reflection in order to learn for future initiatives of the Association.
