We mourn the loss of our teacher, mentor, colleague and friend, Prof. Dr. Bernd Pompino-Marschall, who passed away on August 15th, 2018 at the age of 67 after a serious illness.
After working at the University of Munich, Pompino-Marschall was active in the establishment of the Phonetics Department at ZAS from 1993 until he accepted a professorship at the Humboldt University in Berlin in 2001. He also actively supported the further development of the research area Laboratory Phonology at ZAS.
