Dr. Rowena Garcia is a researcher in the Research Area 2 'Language Development and Multilingualism'.

Her research focuses on children's acquisition of morphosyntax and phonology. She uses corpus data analysis and psycholinguistic methods like eye-tracking to investigate how children process sentences on-line and how they acquire their ambient language. She had previously worked in Metro Manila, Philippines as a speech-language pathologist for children.
