Dr. Rowena Garcia is a researcher in the Research Area 2 'Language Development and Multilingualism'. She is also the Deputy Equal Opportunity Officer of the ZAS.

Her research focuses on children's acquisition of morphosyntax and phonology. She uses corpus data analysis and psycholinguistic methods like eye-tracking to investigate how children process sentences on-line and how they acquire their ambient language. She had previously worked in Metro Manila, Philippines as a speech-language pathologist for children.
