On 16 October, the Humboldt Forum hosted the third symposium on "Languages and Cultural Diversity in Families and Daycare Centres", organised by the Humboldt Forum Foundation and Fröbel e. V. The focus was on how multilingualism can be used as a resource in daycare centres and cultural institutions and how education that is sensitive to prejudice and critical of discrimination can be successful.
Prof. Dr. Natalia Gagarina, head of Research Area 2 ‘Language Development & Multilingualism’ at ZAS, participated in the panel discussion as an expert. She contributed current scientific perspectives from language development and multilingualism research and discussed with representatives from practice, science and cultural mediation about good conditions for linguistic participation and understanding.
